Hi - I'm Nala!

Hi There! I'm Nala - it's nice to finally meet everyone!

I'm the latest Foster Doggie at Uncle Chris's house. I'm excited to be here for several reasons, but most of all because I get to meet all of you. I'll tell you more about myself in a minute, but first I think we should have more cute puppy pictures 😏.

Now, back to more info about me... Let's see - I'm a pretty girl approaching my very first Birthday. I absolutely LOVE toys! I like to play with them and roll around on them and snuggle with them at naptime. Toys are the best! I'm a little shy around new people - I like being around them, but I don't necessarily like being touched very much. I'm a little bit like a kitty cat in that way.

Would you like to know why? I can explain.

You see, I came to the Humane Educational Society as a homeless puppy with my Mommy and my brother. I was really young still, but I never got any of the love and attention that most puppies get, so I'm just slow to warm up to people.

You can understand that, right?

Here are a couple of pictures of me learning to trust (be eating out of Auntie Kate's hand).

I'm not so sure about this.

But I know she loves me because she's feeding me. Food = Love.

Garfunkel has an update!

Oh Gosh - That's a silly picture of me!

Hi Everyone! It's me, Garfunkel, here to tell you about our adventures lately and to ask for your help with a problem I'm having.

First - My Problem. With this nice weather we're having comes some minor shedding issues. Let's face it, my poor fur thinks it's the first week of June outside! So I'm getting rid of my soft undercoat. No big deal, right?

Well, let me woof... Uncle Chris has been picking on me nonstop. "Look Garfy (that's my nickname), there's a whole other dog in the vacuum." or his latest is "Hey Garfy, did you go to college at TUFTS?" Seriously, how is a dog supposed to concentrate on learning and getting adopted with his brother when I have to put up with this kind of dumb verbal banter? Hmmmm??

Whew - thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I feel better now. And for the record, I think I'm just about done with the shedding...

Now, what have Simon and I been up to lately you ask? Lots of good stuff.

Let's see - We continue to work on our obedience skills. We are both really good at both SIT and DOWN now. And we are enjoying spending time together, as always.

And just chilling out together.

The best of friends... bonded together for life!

Oh, and playing with toys like Piglet. We're still new at toys, but we're starting to figure them out...

And then there's the occasional bath time. *SIGH*

I guess bath time is OK since there are cookies involved.

But it is kinda humiliating...

Can this be over now?

I am a cute bugger, though, aren't I?

Did you catch my nickname up above? Uncle Chris calls me "Garfy" - short for Garfunkel. Having a nickname is awesome for a shelter dog. It means somebody LOVES ME!!!

Don't forget, Simon and I are a bonded pair (we're basically brothers at this point) and we're looking for a special home together. Could it be yours?

We love ladies, walks in the park, and cuddles before bed. We're very nervous around children.
